Raku (Fire and Ice) FIRE AND ICE This piece shows faceted, genuine, mystic colors that appear to have a fire within. The piece catches light in ever changing colors. When pulling the Raku pieces out of the kiln we have to use long handled tongs. We must protect ourselves from the heat when we open the kiln that has been fired at a very high temperature. We wear heat and fireproof protective clothing, use high temperature gloves, and an appropriate respirator to protect from smoke. Description: The bowl is approximately 16 inches Diameter with fluted edges. The fluted or ruffled flounce that trims the outside of my bowls, is unique to my pieces, as is the lace inset on the front and back of each piece. Each piece comes with a metal display stand.
