Raku
(Peas in a Pod)
PEAS IN A POD

Lace, coils, and pottery dots combine and repeat in this winsome piece. Raku became popular with American potters in the late 1950s. Americans kept the general firing process, that is, heating the pottery quickly to high temperatures and cooling it quickly, but continued to form their own unique style of raku.

Description: The bowl is approximately 16 inches Diameter with fluted edges. The fluted or ruffled flounce that trims the outside of my bowls, is unique to my pieces, as is the lace inset on the front and back of each piece.
